Clinical Services
The Healthy Worker offers a range of clinical services in clinic or by referral, from basic hearing tests to blood tests to x-rays. These are available for all stages of the employment process, from pre-employment screening to ongoing exposure surveillance testing. Following a work-related injury, some of these tests can help to assess the injury and ensure the healing process is progressing as expected.
An audiometry exam, for example, involves assessing sounds based on loudness and tone. In certain jobs, employees may need to hear clearly for safety and health reasons and/or are at increased risk of hearing loss due to the work environment. These tests help us identify potential damage to the employee’s hearing and initiate appropriate follow up steps.
Serum cholinesterase blood tests measure levels of acetylcholinesterase and pseudocholinesterase, which may be changed if the individual has a significant or ongoing exposure to certain pesticides, usually in a commercial agricultural environment.. Employers using these pesticides are required to establish annual baseline levels for all employees at risk of exposure to help guide medical treatment in the event of poisoning later in the year.
Mask fit tests ensure employees are using appropriate masks which fit properly and allow them to perform their duties safely and comfortably.
From the collection of blood to alternative samples for lab testing, our staff is available to meet the majority of your clinical testing needs. Whether it is to evaluate an employee’s or job candidate’s physical health or tracking their recovery, we are ready to help.
The Healthy Worker staff also provide Hep A and Hep B vaccinations, both the initial series of shots, and a booster, if required.
