Below, we have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions regarding our clinical and other services. Don’t see the answer you need? No problem. Contact us with your questions for a prompt response.

How do employers sign up for services?

Contact us to let us know your specific needs and any other information you need, and we will do our best to accommodate them and help set up your employee health and injury services.

Do you have walk-in injury appointments?

The Healthy Worker accepts walk-ins throughout the work week. For new injury claims, if you haven’t seen another provider already (emergency room, urgent care, or another occupational medicine clinic), come in before 3 pm Monday to Friday. We do recommend calling ahead and making an appointment to save you some wait time.

I hurt myself at work. What should I do?

Contact us to make an appointment. Do you need a same-day appointment? We accept walk-ins before 3 pm on weekdays. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Room.

How soon will I get drug screen results?
  • Negative results: 24 to 48 hours
  • Non-negative results: Typically, 3 to 5 business days
Do you offer observed drug screens?

Yes, we have observed drug screens in accordance with the drug testing rules approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). These rules allow observed collections when employees are screened for follow-up drug testing or return-to-duty requests. Observed drug screens ensure the employee provides their own sample. Contact us directly to find out how we handle the sensitive nature of observed drug screening.

Are appointments needed for drug screens?

While we recommend making an appointment to prevent long wait times, we accept walk-in drug screen clients.

What do I need to schedule a DOT physical?

Bring copies of any reports related to ongoing medical issues, including:

  • Sleep apnea: full year of CPAP reports
  • Diabetes: A1C (hemoglobin levels) taken within 90 days of the physical
  • Heart problems: Clearance from a cardiologist, latest testing results
  • Vision impairments: Recent visit notes and clearance from your eye doctor
  • Please provide name and address of current medical provider and a list of all current medications
  • Vision Evaluation Report Form

    Do you conduct private physicals?

Yes. However, our staff will need time to review the paperwork prior to scheduling a private physical, so please contact us at least a week before you need the documentation to be submitted. Very basic physicals may be addressed in a shorter period of time.
